Hello again,

Today is the second piano practice day of the series. I think it’s going well so far. Today I played two pieces: Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and Say Something by Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino. The Hallelujah practicing didn’t go as well as Say Something practicing, but that’s okay. I never expected to be the best at the piano right from the start (or ever). When practicing Say Something, I found that the piece didn’t have a dynamic key, like a volume controller.

After practicing, and recording myself practicing, I decided to write my own dynamic on the sheet. I chose Mezzo-Piano for the most part, then, at the end, I fade off into Piano. I think that will sound nice and it will keep me from constantly changing the dynamics during my practice session. I haven’t yet figured out exactly how to always play at the intended dynamic, but that is where practice comes into effect. Bye for now,

Preston
