Hello again,

I have taken the camera, and the telescope out to the Malahat (a strip of a local highway) to do some stargazing and some astrophotography. From what I can tell, I need to find a better location. I was far enough from any city light, about 50 km’s from Victoria, to see some amazing stars; I even saw the Milky Way. However, I chose a spot right off the highway. This turned out to be a rookie mistake because it limited the direction I could point the camera to get some good shot, as there was a large number of vehicles passing by with what could only be described as blindingly bright headlights. Some of my photos turned out nicely. I bought myself a tripod and tried to use the skills I had learned mentioned in my previous post. I set the exposure time to approximately 25 seconds.

Unfortunately, the photos didn’t turn out. None of the photos saved properly on the SD card. So, it could be one of two problems: either the camera settings weren’t set up correctly, or the SD card is faulty and needs to be replaced. (I made sure that the lens cap was off and the camera was on)

To remedy this, I bought an SD card off amazon. It should arrive soon. Once it arrives, I can get back to photography.

Till next time,

Preston
